Direct Shipper Freight
As a MC partner or owner operator you have a lot on your plate — especially if you go it alone. You must maintain your equipment, determine the profitable loads and rates. In this market, you want to go direct and be direct!
Taking a direct shippers trucking approach means contracting loads with shippers directly. Instead of working with a broker, you will work directly with our shippers.
Since many shippers don’t have the time, money, or expertise to hire, train, and manage their own logistics team, they often outsource work to 3PLs (like BBTMS) and brokers. After all, working with us is easy and allows shippers to concentrate on their business instead of on logistical minutiae like handling carrier insurance or determining the best rates.
All of that takes time and energy that shippers don’t necessarily have, so brokers seem like the perfect solution.
Even though using BBTMS costs 15-20% more than working directly with trucking companies, shippers will use us in certain specific circumstances, like if something has gone wrong with their routing guide, if they have a large slot of units to fill, or are in an unfamiliar region.
The last thing you want as a trucking contractor or truck owner is to be penalized for non-compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations or the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
However, with the amount of work already on your plate, it can be easy to let things such as permits and safety audits fall between the cracks.
But with the right systems and procedures in place, compliance doesn’t have to be a constant source of stress. In fact, with all of the necessary information, your commercial trucking company will run like a well-oiled machine.
We will make sure you get there.
The cost of towing a semi-truck ranges from $250 to $500 for the hookup fee and $20 - $50 per mile for every mile driven to the final destination. Many towing companies will charge a per-mile rate starting from the moment the start engine is started. Other companies will start charging the per-mile rate after the first few miles en-route to the vehicle. The cost of towing a semi-truck can be up to $10,000.
Towing a truck can be expensive. There’s no fixed rate, as there are some factors that contribute to how much the towing company is likely to charge you. Here’s what we mean:
